2008 will mark the opening of Whiskey Hill Dairy. I have been making cheese for friends and family for several years and think it
is time to go commercial. Goats, after all, are producers of superior milk that provides healthy products for our consumption.
I am pleased to open my cheese making facility with my fine herd of purebred registered does. They are truly "career girls" that
work hard here on the farm. Always productive, if they aren't milking they are producing kids to be sold to other dairies or for
show stock. We will be offering raw milk and raw milk aged cheeses as well as fresh cheese that will be
pasteurized. Look for pictures as I finish my buildings. I think pictures of foundations and framing are boring.
This is a one-woman operation, so it will be kept manageable in order to care for the goats properly and make and sell the
cheeses, soaps and milk.
My goats are strong and healthy with good dairy character. They stand on good feet and legs, carry level toplines and tight shoulders. Barn records reflect good milking ability. Linear Appraisal was done in September 2004. The entire herd has
again tested Negative for CAE in September 2007. I have no
abscesses. All stock are supplemented with Copper and Selenium, vaccinated against CD&Tetanus and wormed twice a year. Kids are removed from their dam at birth and fed
pasteurized milk.
Kids can be pre-ordered. Please call or e-mail to make arrangements. Kids can be shipped from SeaTac in Seattle. Health papers and Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.
